The industry as a whole has made progress steadily, and the output of chemical fiber has increased significantly. From January to June, the industrial added value of textile enterprises above designated size increased by 4.6%, and the operating income was 2,269.2 billion yuan, an increase of 5.8%; Total profit was 69 billion yuan, up 20.8 percent year on year. Yarn of enterprises above designated size decreased by 1.5%, and the output of cloth, clothing and chemical fiber increased by 2.1%, 4.4% and 13.2%, respectively.
The retail scale of the market has expanded, and online consumption has grown rapidly. From January to June, the total retail sales of consumer goods by units above designated size nationwide reached 9,105.7 billion yuan, an increase of 3.1% year-on-year, of which the retail sales of clothing, shoes and hats, and textile products by units above designated size increased by 1.3% year-on-year, and the online retail sales of physical goods increased by 7.0% year-on-year.
Exports showed a recovery trend, and the foreign trade situation improved quarter by quarter. From January to June, China's textile and apparel exports totaled 143.18 billion US dollars, an increase of 1.5% year-on-year. In June, textile and apparel exports to the world were 27.4 billion US dollars, an increase of 2.5%.
