From January to July, the industrial added value of textile enterprises above designated size increased by 4.7% year-on-year, and the operating income was 2,736.6 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0% year-on-year; Total profit was 87.4 billion yuan, up 20.1 percent year-on-year. The output of yarn of textile enterprises above designated size decreased by 1.2% year-on-year, and the output of cloth, clothing and chemical fiber increased by 2.3%, 4.5% and 11.8% respectively.
The vitality of consumption has been continuously stimulated, and the consumption of clothing has grown rapidly. From January to July, the total retail sales of consumer goods by units above designated size nationwide reached 10,532.1 billion yuan, up 2.7% year-on-year, of which the retail sales of clothing, shoes and hats, and textile products by units above designated size increased by 0.5% year-on-year, and the retail sales of physical goods online for wearing goods increased by 6.3% year-on-year.
Overall foreign trade remained stable, with exports falling slightly in the month. From January to July, China's textile and apparel exports totaled US $169.84 billion, an increase of 1.1% year-on-year. In July, textile and apparel exports to the world were 26.8 billion US dollars, down 0.5% year on year.
